The Black Hills Business Development Center, owned by the Rapid City Economic Development Foundation, was built in 2006 and is located on the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology campus. The Center is dedicated to incubating startup or new to the area technology businesses with growth potential as well as student skill development by offering quality, affordable space. Since inception, there has been entrance admission to 19 companies, resulting in over 330 jobs during their tenancy.
The goal of the Black Hills Business Development Center is to provide new and existing small businesses with management assistance, cost effective space, and a nurturing, professional environment, thereby encouraging the development of local businesses which can:
- Contribute to the general economic health of the region
- Provide new and increased job opportunities; and
- Add to the variety of products and services available to the area.
Our 40,000 square foot facility offers a diverse range of facilities from single offices to light manufacturing areas. Tenants work together and build skills to overcome obstacles while facing similar challenges. If you are interested in locating your business inside the incubator then you are on the right track. Just call or come by to see if the professional services we offer are right for your business. We will assist you with the information and resources that will help you get started.
