Zoning - Rapid City has several industrial areas
which are zoned "Heavy Industrial" and would accommodate
all types of manufacturing. There are also light to medium manufacturing
areas and parks in Rapid City which offer a wide range of amenities
to manufacturers.
Power - Three phase power is available at all industrial
sites. Rapid City has energy costs which are the third lowest in
the United

Access - All of the industrial parks and industrial
areas in Rapid City are serviced by truck routes which provide
clear access to
Interstate 90 and to North-South highways. All industrial parks
and areas are either adjacent to or within one mile of a highway
or Interstate.

Black Hills Business Development Center
The Black Hills Business Development Center is committed to offering quality,
affordable space to attract start-ups and businesses with growth potential.
The Black Hills Business Development Center serves to promote early stage technology
based companies to grow and prosper. Within the Center a full range of business
services is provided free or at a low cost through sharing. The facility offers
office, lab and light manufacturing space for lease. The Center is owned and
operated by the Rapid City Economic Development Foundation and its Board of
Directors and is located at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology
campus. The board has hired a Chief Executive Officer to be responsible for
the day-to-day operations of the Center. The Board retains exclusive oversight
and approval of lease and build-out contracts as recommended by the CEO
