Dr. George Garlick
Creating Research and Economic Development Parks

 The Western Research Alliance co-hosted with SDSM&T Alumni Association
a presentation by Dr. George Garlick for researchers, entrepreneurs and
local politicians on the "Development and Success of Research Parks.
Dr. Garlick, founder of Richland, WA's Tri-Cities Science and Technology
Park, received the SDSM&T's Distinguished Alumni Award in Deceober
2002. While at SDSM&T to receive the award, Garlick presented an overview
on the formation and operation of the Tri-Cities Science and Technology
Park for the Western Research Alliance and community leaders. ." This
luncheon began an annual event that later became known as "Technology-Based
Economic Development (T-BED) luncheon series".
